SAN (AS)

SAN (AS) Image SAN is a copolymer of Styrene and Acrylonitrile. Combining the properties of dimensional stability, ease or processing, and optical clarity found in Styrene, with the chemical resistance and surface hardness found in Acrylonitrile, SAN is formed to provide the market with a highly transparent, rigid, chemically resistant polymer. SAN is commonly used when Polystyrene does not provide enough chemical resistance, and clarity is required. Common uses are lighters, plastic tumblers, food trays/containers, and cosmetic packaging.
